Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel launched a first of its kind initiative in which direct financial assistance is provided to the beneficiaries of various schemes under the National Health Mission (NHM) new Model-2 of Electronic Fund Flow Application. Special initiative towards public health welfare by the state government. Beneficiaries of various schemes under National Health Mission will now easily get the financial aid in their bank account within a week.
Under NHM, the Government of India provides annual assistance of Rs 4000 crore to the state for various health programmes and schemes like Emergency Covid Response Package, Aayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, as well as 15th Finance Commission.

Electronic Fund Flow Application-2 under State Nodal Agency (SNA)
To ensure that financial assistance reaches directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries of the various schemes under NHM, Government of Gujarat launched Electronic Fund Flow Application-2 under State Nodal Agency (SNA). This application will shorten the duration of financial aid reaching the beneficiaries from four-five weeks to a within a week. During the launch of this application, Shri Bhupendra Patel was accompanied by the state Health Minister Shri Rushikesh Patel, and other senior Secretaries of the health department.

The purpose of allocation and supervision of funds under Centrally Sponsored Schemes
Earlier, the amount allotted to the state government by the centre was distributed amongst different institutions from where it was further sent to divisional, district, taluka levels, leading to delay in allocation of the funds to the beneficiaries. Under the guidance of Shri Bhupendra Patel and the direction of Shri Hrishikesh Patel, the State Health Department has appointed State Health Society Gandhinagar as the SNA for the purpose of allocation and supervision of funds under Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Gujarat becomes the only state to initiate Single Nodal Agency across the country
As Gujarat is the only state in the country to launch this, all financial transactions will be processed automatically on PFMS (Public Financial Management System) portal. Moreover, there will be real time monitoring of the details of assistance received by the beneficiaries of various schemes.
‘Good Governance in the Health Sector’
This will enable the citizens of the state to avail financial assistance under NHM without any delay and directly in their bank account. This is a big stride towards strengthening the ‘Good Governance in the Health Sector’ with thorough transparency.
