Tokyo Para Olympics’2021: Gujarat’s Bhavina and Sonal Patel in game!

Asian Medalist Players, Bhavina Patel and Sonal Patel from Gujarat have been have been selected for Tokyo Para Olympics’2021. They are the lone players from the entire nation selected for the same. Both the players were honored by Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani and leaders of Gujarat Congress, Arjun Modhwadia and Paresh Dhanani.

Bhavina Patel, is India’s 1st Women to get selected in Singles Event of Para TT Olympics. She has been learning Table Tennis professionally in Blind people’s Association since past 13 years from her Coach Lalan Doshi and with their Joint efforts she has played 28 International Tournaments and amongst them she has won 5 Gold, 13 silver & 8 bronze medals at International level making the whole country proud. She is currently 8th in the world ranking.

Gujarat's pride Bhavina and Sonal patel selected for Tokyo Para Olympics'2021 Whereas, Sonal the Para Asian Medalist Player, has played 25 International Tournaments and has achieved 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze Medals for India. Sonal is currently on 19th spot in the world ranking.

Bhavina has been selected in the Sports Authority of India’s Target Olympic Podium Scheme. She has also been under the contract with OGQ (Olympic Gold Quest) for one year. In addition to this, she is currently serving in ESIC(sports quota).

Although being a married woman, Bhavina, with the strong support of her husband Nikul Patel and all the other Family Members, is preparing for her dream to win medal for the country in Tokyo Para Olympics’2021, Japan. While, Sonal, being a married lady has also been strongly supported by her husband Ramesh Chaudhary and all the family members.

8 hours of daily practice and a proper plan of food and exercise given by professionals, is how their preparations for Tokyo Para Olympic’2021 looks like. Both the players are currently ongoing through specialized advanced level training.

The Asian Medalist sharing her excitement over twitter said that, “When it is about Country India and specially about winning medal at Tokyo Para Olympic, then all the Political Parties should stand together.”

The Tokyo Paralympic Games will be held from 24 August – 5 September 2021. A total of 22 sports are scheduled for inclusion in the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games. Whereas, Badminton and Taekwondo will be making their debut at the 2021 Paralympic Games.
